Frederick J. Ingraham Obituary

RAVENA----Frederick J. Ingraham passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on November 8, 2022. Born in Albany on November 24, 1947 to the late Ethel VanAlstyne. Fred served two tours in the Army during the Vietnam War and earned the Golden Star Medal.

           He retired from truck driving for Wicks Lumber, Selkirk NY after 30 years. Fred dedicated many years to the Cornell Hook and Ladder Fire Company and served as Assistant Chief, Vice President, Commissioner, and Fire Police as a lifelong member. He was also a member of the American Legion and VFW. Fred enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening sitting on the deck with his dog Chloe, and most of all, being with his grandchildren.

          Fred is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Phyllis Dutton Ingraham; daughter, Melissa (Tom) Sylvester; son, JR (Fiancé Nikki) Ingraham; sister, Georgette (Gene) Knott- Defoe; loving Papa to TJ and Kelsey Sylvester; special niece Courtney Knott; lifelong friend, Sam Sexton; many nieces and nephews. Fred was predeceased by his sister, Bernice Brate and niece, Button Askew.

         Friends may call at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena from 2-3 PM on Sunday November 13, 2022. The funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home at 3 PM. Donations in memory of Fred may be made to the Cornell Hook and Ladder Fire Company, PO Box 400, New Baltimore, NY 12124.
