Lillian A. Schiding Obituary

WEST MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP – Lillian A. (Henry) Schiding, age 78, of West Manchester Township, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2022 at home surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of the late David “Wib” Schiding who passed away in 2020.

Lillian was born in Altoona, PA on March 13, 1944 and was the daughter of the late Boyd R. Henry, and Florine A. (Irvin) and Cyrus P. (Dutch) Burkholder. She was a homemaker and stay at home mother while her children were younger and then worked at SKF in Hanover for over 23 years prior to retiring.

Known for her landscaping and having the most beautiful flowers on her street, she took great pride in her curb appeal. Never did anything less than 110%. Family and friends could always count on her for helping with a sewing project, wreathes, beautiful bows and just interior design. When her friends would be doing any kind of makeover or buying furniture they would always reach out and ask for her opinion. She never lost that touch.

Lillian is survived by her children, Theresa Rohrbaugh and husband Gerald of York New Salem, and Jackie Henry of York; her stepchildren Vicky Stein and husband John of York, Keith Schiding and wife Krys of Bradenton, FL, Lisa Morgan and husband Richard of Ash, NC, Shelly Corson and husband Michael of Rennes, France, and David W. Schiding, III and wife Terri of Bristow, VA; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Michael Burkholder and wife Mariann, Timothy Henry and wife Michelle, and William Henry; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mary Anne and Morrie Hopper; and numerous nieces and nephews. Lillian was preceded in death by her son-in-law Bryan S. Henry who passed away in 2022.

Following cremation, a Memorial Service in celebration of Lillian’s life will be held on Monday, November 14, 2022, at 11:00AM at Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., of Spring Grove, 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove with Certified Life-Cycle Celebrant Donna Hoffman officiating. Interment will be held privately by the family. The family will receive friends on Monday from 10:00AM – 11:00AM at the funeral home.

The family would like to extend their sincerest thank you to all of Lillian's doctors and nurses that treated and took care of her during the last 25 years of her life. She appreciated every one of you from the Doctor's office to the hospital and in between. We are eternally grateful, and our family will never forget your support and kindness to our mother.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lillian’s memory may be made to York Cancer Center, 25 Monument Ave., York, PA 17403.
