John V. Lenart

Age 85 passed away Monday October 31, 2022, at Lightways Hospice Home in Joliet.

John worked as an accountant, and after retirement taught part time at local universities. He was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan, a jazz enthusiast and an avid reader. He was an active resident, and former board member of the Carillon Lakes Community in Crest Hill since 2001, formerly of South Bend, IN and Country Club Hills, IL.

John is survived by his loving wife Melody Lenart; children Jennifer (Mark) Knable, Matt (Amal) Lenart, Jeff (fiancée Traci Peterson) Lenart, and Jonathan Lyford. Grandchildren Ryan Lenart, Brooklyn Lenart, Lauren Lyford, and Jamie Lyford, also numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents John and Elizabeth Lenart; sisters Cel (Rich) Jensen, and Carol (Larry) Muscarella, son James Lyford, and his first wife Joyce Lenart. Per his family’s request, services for John will be private, cremation rites to be accorded.
