<p>Annie “Ruth” Jackson was born July 4, 1957, in Midland, Texas. She completed all her elementary, secondary, high school (Lee High School) in Midland. She went on to receive her master’s degree at Phoenix University where she served as a teacher for Midland Independent School District for more than 25 years. </p><p>Annie devoted her life to Christ at an early age, and as a result she served in the church and in her community. She was a member of the BCCO Black Culture Council of Odessa, GMWAC West Texas Gospel Music of America, she loved to play golf and was a member of the Texas Golf Association, and was a part of the Young and Breastless. Annie was a long term member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Annie had many things she loved cooking (feeding the hungry), sewing, swimming, and lets not forget fashion was her thing. You may have seen her strut her stuff for Pink the Basin. </p><p>On Friday, October 21, 2022, Annie received her glorified body. Preceding her in death is her grandparents, Thomas and Minnie Lee Williams, parents K.T. Hudson and Annie Schrekenghost. Annie leaves in cherished memory the love of her life Thomas Smith, children Melvin Jackson III, Brittany Jackson, her pride and joy Isaiah Jackson, grandchildren Rosetta Thurman, Xavier Jackson, Aasha Jackson, Annie Jackson, Mallorie Joplin, Brielle Watson, Adrian Watson, host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and lets not forget her students. “Once a Bull Dog Always a Bull Dog.”</p><p>Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. at Goodwill Baptist Church with Pastor Woodrow Bailey officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Avalos-Sanchez &amp; Thomas Funeral Home.
