Marilyn B. Drzyzga

Our loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother passed away peacefully Thursday, October 20, 2022, at McLaren Bay Region, age 83. Marilyn was born June 16, 1939, in Bay City to the late Howard and Thelma (Edsel) McLellan. She married the love of her life James P. Drzyzga on September 21, 1963, in Immanuel Lutheran Church and Jim survives her. Early in Marilyn’s working years, she worked at the Bay City Times in the Advertising Department and after many years of dedicated service, she left the Bay City Times to raise her daughter Pamela and enjoy their family together. When Pamela was a little older Marilyn went to work at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bay City as their secretary until her retirement. Marilyn and Jim were members of Immanuel Lutheran Church for many years until they transferred to Zion Lutheran Church in the early 1990’s. The most important part of her life was being able to spend time with her loving family, especially her beloved grandson Neil.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 59 years James, their loving daughter Pamela (James) Drzyzga-Degg, one grandson Neil James Klemm, a special niece Joy O’Brien as well as several other nieces and nephews. Marilyn was predeceased by eight siblings over the years.

The Funeral Service for Marilyn will be held Monday, October 24, 2022, at 12:00 Noon at Zion Lutheran Church, 510 W. Ivy Ave., Bay City, MI 48706. Pastor Phillip Baerwolf will officiate, and interment will be in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Family and friends will gather at the church only on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
