<p>George L. Stelmach, 71, of Harlowton, died Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at Wheatland Memorial ER.</p><p><br></p><p>Born November 4, 1950, in Manhattan, New York, he was son of the late Theodore and Lubow (Serdiuk) Stelmach who were Ukranian immigrants. He spent his childhood years in Butte, MT and then his family relocated to Los Angeles, CA. A 1968 graduate of Hollywood High School, he also attended and received degrees in History and Accounting from CalState Los Angeles, Cal State Dominquez Hills and Woodbury University. He retired from the Federal Government with 27 years working for the Veterans Administration, Dept. of the Navy and Defense Finance and Accounting. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the U.S. Army.</p><p><br></p><p>He relocated from Norco, CA, where he owned horses and treeing walker hounds, to Harlowton, MT in 2010 where he finally lived and fulfilled his dream of being a rancher, raising Red Angus cattle. He also enjoyed scuba diving and fishing.</p><p><br></p><p>George is survived by his wife of 41 years, Debra J (Eckart) Stelmach, and a brother Alex R. Stelmach of Stevenson Ranch, CA.</p><p><br></p><p>A graveside ceremony will be held at 2pm, Friday, October 28, 2022, at the Harlowton City Cemetery with Pastor Jerrod Williams officiating.
