Robert Goodman Kean Richards

<p>Robert Goodman Kean Richards, 56, passed away on August 30, 2022 at his home in Aztec, New Mexico. Robert was born September 21, 1966 in Durango, Colorado to Kean and Rena Richards. </p><p>Robert is survived by his cat, Honey Cat, his longtime life partner; his parents, Kean and Rena Richards; his siblings Laura Richards, Kenneth Richards, Calvin Richards, Ross Jacket, Frances Richards, and Esther Richards; numerous nieces and nephews; extended family and many friends. </p><p>He is preceded in death by his grandparents Bob and Alice Richards and Jose and Julia Ortiz; and his nephew Johnathan Lee Winlock.</p><p>Robert graduated high school from Ignacio High School in 1985 where he played football and wrestled, always faithfully lifting weights. He studied and practiced martial arts; he was the next Bruce Lee! He also obtained numerous certifications from the NRA (National Rifle Association) for his skilled shooting abilities. Robert worked for 17 years at the Sky Ute Casino &amp; Resort as a Surveillance Agent. He caught a lot of bad guys and was a workaholic.</p><p>Robert was the World’s Best Break Dancer! He loved animals and collecting and shooting guns, he was in fast cars and 4x4 trucks, always upgrading his rides. He faithfully listened to his favorite podcasts (Sasquatch Chronicles, Aliens Stories, Dogman Encounters). He also enjoyed collecting and making art; he kept journals of everyday life; he enjoyed playing guitars with family; and taught himself how to play the flute.</p><p>He was always happy, respectful, and enjoyed dressing fancy. He was known for his long, gorgeous hair. Robert loved to eat, when he was eating he always wore a bib. He would say, “I’m not ruining my clothes for anyone!” He always gave the best gifts. He was very thoughtful, kind, and respectful person. He enjoyed making new friends. Robert would always be laughing and joking around. He was the funniest guy on the Rez.</p><p>Robert’s favorite quotes were “My little girl is Honey Ham”, “Honey Cat”, “Eye Candy”, and “Hey, Chicky-a-dee”. </p><p>A Celebration of Life for Robert will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at 10 a.m. at the Southern Ute Indian Tribe Memorial Chapel, with a Graveside Service to follow at the Ouray Cemetery.
