Ella Christine Rolnick, née Schillinger

Ella Christine Rolnick, 93, of Toms River, NJ passed away, Saturday, October 8, 2022. Born March 30,1929, in Elk Lake, PA, the daughter of Harold O. and Mary (Leckie) Schillinger.

Chris was a Registered Nurse and spent most of her career as a Charge Nurse at  the Kimball Medical Center in Lakewood New Jersey.

E. Christine was an independent woman long before it was fashionable, moving from rural Pennsylvania to Manhattan as a young woman where she worked as a legal secretary. She loved reading and taught English Literature at the Indian Consulate in Brussels. Chris took her children on long camping trips where she passed on her love of nature, the outdoors, and animals. She started college and became a registered nurse when she was nearly 50. Chris loved music of all kinds and will be remembered for her sense of humor and her unstoppable spirit!

Survivors include two daughters, Karen Rolnick (Douglas Munson) of Brooklyn, NY, Susan (Thomas) Knight of Sunderland, MA; son, Lawrence M. Rolnick (Kimberly Sorrentino) of Westfield, NJ; grandchildren; Crystal (Jonathon), Erin, Karina (Kurt), Layna (Sean), Blair (Halim), Austin (Rachael), Brandon, Dillon, Niclas (Holly), Meaghan (Sean), Emily; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce Rudzianski (John) of Montrose, PA; brother, William C. Schillinger (Nena) of Manhattan, NY; nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents her sisters, Mary Jane and Barbara, and brother Harold predecease her.
