Junior R. Montgomery

<p><br></p><p>Junior R. Montgomery, age 84, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away Friday, October 7, 2022.&nbsp; Junior was born and raised in Jackson County, Kentucky, but spent most of his life in Cincinnati.&nbsp; He retired from the maintenance department of the City of Deer Park.&nbsp; He went on to be a school crossing guard and became known by many as “the mole man” because he could get rid of them like no other.&nbsp; He loved being outdoors, whether it was fishing, hunting, yard work or just killing moles.&nbsp; He was a hard worker and would always find something to be doing.&nbsp; He loved to help with school sports and events.&nbsp; Junior was loved by many kids, parents and neighbors for his kindness and generosity.&nbsp; In fact, many of the kids called him “Papaw”.&nbsp; He especially loved his grandkids and great grandkids.&nbsp; He was their biggest fan for anything they did; and they were the light of his life. </p><p>Junior was preceded in death by his parents: Barbara Emaline Montgomery and Oscar Montgomery; sisters: Geraldine Montgomery, Modena Keith, Beulah Keith, Delores Tyree and Geneva Coffee; brothers:&nbsp; J. D. Montgomery and Bruce Montgomery; and wife of 40 years (at the time of her death), Virginia Phillips Montgomery.&nbsp; </p><p>Junior is survived by three daughters:&nbsp; Debra Gray (Terry) of Manchester, Kentucky, Donna Holtzclaw of Cincinnati, and Debbie Cox (John) of Cincinnati; two granddaughters: Junell McQueen of Manchester, and Bailey Kirby of Cincinnati; and two great grandsons:&nbsp; Tucker and Colton Kirby of Cincinnati. </p><p>A Public Visitation will be held 11AM-1PM Friday, October 14, 2022, at Barnett, Demrow &amp; Friend Funeral Home, 545 KY Hwy 328 West, Waynesburg, KY 40489.&nbsp;<br> <br> The Public Funeral Service will be held 1:00PM Friday, at the funeral home.&nbsp; Bro. David Gambrel will officiate the service.&nbsp;&nbsp;The Funeral Service will be livestreamed on Junior’s memorial page of the funeral home’s website. </p><p>Burial will follow in Double Springs Cemetery. </p><p>Barnett, Demrow &amp; Friend Funeral Home, Waynesburg, is entrusted with Junior’s arrangements.&nbsp; Guest Book at www.friendfuneralhomes.com. </p>

Junior R. The Public Funeral Service will be held 1:00PM Friday, at the funeral home.  Bro. David Gambrel will officiate the service.  The Funeral Service will be livestreamed on Junior’s memorial page of the funeral home’s website.

Burial will follow in Double Springs Cemetery.
