Thomas "Tom" Ernest Wilcox

<p>Thomas Ernest "Tom" Wilcox passed away peacefully at Boundary Trails Health Center surrounded by family, on Saturday October 1, 2022 at the age of 80 years old. </p><p>Tom was born October 11, 1941 on the home farm in the RM of Victoria, MB.&nbsp; He was the 3rd child of nine children; seven brothers and one sister. As he attended school at Boyne Creek School he worked on the family farm.&nbsp; </p><p>On April 28, 1962, he married Harriett Knibbs. They were blessed with two sons, Donald and Brent. Tom worked for various farmers in southern Manitoba before moving to an acreage south of Treherne, where he started his welding business in 1968.&nbsp; </p><p>After the loss of his first wife,&nbsp;he raised his two sons while spending countless hours building and repairing farm equipment. In 1975, he married his wife of 47years, Suzanne Legal.&nbsp; Their family grew and they were blessed with a daughter, Myrna, and a son, Tim. </p><p>In Tom’s spare time he thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors. Many memories were made&nbsp;hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, quadding, gardening, and camping with family.&nbsp; He greatly enjoyed family gatherings with his siblings and their families.&nbsp; Many conversations were enjoyed around the kitchen table or in the shop with his many customers over the years.&nbsp;&nbsp; </p><p>As the years went on the family continued to grow to include eight grandchildren and two great granddaughters, who Tom greatly treasured. He was very active in all of their lives and it was clear he cherished his time spent with each of them.&nbsp;&nbsp; </p><p>Tom’s family meant the world to him, as he meant the world to his family.&nbsp; He will forever hold a special place in each of our hearts. </p><p>Tom leaves to mourn his loving wife Suzanne (nee Legal), and his four children Don (Melody), Brent (Olga Reimer), Myrna (Darby Dickson), and Tim (Sabrina). Daughter-in-law Ayn (Tim) Rogalsky and son-in-law Christopher (Cindy) Hayward. </p><p>He will be forever missed by his 8 Grandchildren Natasha (Nathan) Mangin, Rebecca, Jenessa (Scott), Katrina, Kaydee (Thomas), Lexi (Kolt), Myles, Karah, and his two Great-Grandchildren Kinsley and Ava Mangin.&nbsp; </p><p>Tom was predeceased by his first wife Harriett Wilcox (nee Knibbs).&nbsp; </p><p>Tom was the son of Arthur† &amp; Doris† (nee Cork) Wilcox;&nbsp; brother of Shirley† (Steve†) Nadolney, Art† (Louise†) Wilcox, Jim (Beverley) Wilcox, Ernie (Betty†) Wilcox, George (Barb ) Wilcox, Dave (Susan) Wilcox, Ron Wilcox, Ken† (Penny Lee) Wilcox;&nbsp; son-in-law of Harry† &amp; Ada† Knibbs, and Louis† &amp; Aline† Legal;&nbsp; brother-in-law of Kathleen (Eugene) Gushuliak, Howard (Marilyn) Knibbs, Dave Knibbs, Loraine Legal, Denis Legal, Georges (April) Legal, Rita (Louis) Pennarun, Aime† (Marla) Legal, Guy (Denalda) Legal, Diane (Frank) Kirouac, Lise Legal, Marc† (Jennifer) Legal, Nicole (John) Jorgensen.&nbsp; Tom will also be remembered by his numerous nieces and nephews. </p><p>Funeral services were held on Friday October 7, 2022 in the Holland United Church with Heather Grobb officiating.&nbsp; Interment took place in the Boyne Creek Cemetery.&nbsp; Friends that so desire, memorial donations can be made in Tom’s memory to the Manitoba Lung Association, 825 Sherbrook St., Room 204, Winnipeg, MB R3A 1M5. </p><p>Online condolences may be sent to the Wilcox family by visiting Tom’s profile page at www.willmorchapel.com.&nbsp; Jamieson’s Funeral Services of Holland, MB in care of arrangements. </p><p>&nbsp; </p>
