Laskowski (Skornia)</p><p>Bay City, Michigan</p><p><br></p><p>Our beloved mother, grandmother and sister passed away Sunday, October 2, 2022, at her home with her family at her side, age 73. Carol was born April 23, 1949, in Bay City to the late Henry and Jeanette (Wolff) Skornia. She married the love of her life Lawrence D. Laskowski on August 1, 1970, in St. Hyacinth Church and he predeceased her on August 27, 2013. Carol enjoyed shopping, a good cup or two of coffee, listening to Kenny Chesney music, relaxing at the lake and most importantly spending time with her grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her compassionate heart and willingness to help others no matter the task.</p><p>Left to carry on her legacy are her four children: David (Gail) Laskowski, Ann (Michael) Lytle, Brian Laskowski (Ashley Stickler) and Lori (Bradley) Stacer, six grandchildren: Jacob and Hannah Lytle, Ben, Katie, Landon and Logan Stacer, brothers and sisters: Bruce (Mary Jane) Skornia, Barb Skornia (Mary Scollan), Mary (Tim) Bakle, Marilyn (Don) Allabaugh, Maureen Skornia, Sue (Gary) Manning, Dan (Shirley) Skornia, David (Bonnie) Skornia, Michael Skornia and Joanne Skornia and Carol’s in-laws: Paul Laskowski, Judy Adams, Kathy (Tom) Miller and Helene (Mike) Nast as well as many nieces and nephews. Carol was predeceased by her father and mother-in-law Virgil and Bernadine Laskowski and a sister-in-law Joanne Laskowski.</p><p>Carol’s children would like to thank Fr. Rick Filary and Sue Roznowski with Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish for being there for Carol and her family at a moment’s notice to guide them spiritually to the next chapter in their lives. They would also like to gratefully acknowledge the talented and compassionate staff at My Michigan Hospice, U of M Cancer Center and Dr. Scott Ross for their professional and kind care they gave Carol over the past several weeks.</p><p>The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, October 8, 2022, at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish-St. Hyacinth Church, 1515 Cass Ave., Bay City, MI 48708. Fr. Rick Filary will celebrate Mass and interment will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Friends may call at Squires Funeral Home, 211 N. Henry Street, Bay City, MI 48706 on Friday from 1:00 to 8:00 PM and at church on Saturday after 9:00 AM. Members of OLC Parish will pray the Rosary for Carol at Squires Funeral Home on Friday at 2:00 PM, followed later that afternoon by a Parish Vigil Service at 6:00 PM.
