<p>Seneca- Marlene McDonald Flagg, 72, wife of the late Stephen David Flagg, passed away Saturday, October 1st, 2022 at The Oaks at Chanticleer in Greenville, South Carolina.</p><p><br></p><p>A native of Union Point, Georgia, Marlene was the daughter of the late William Harvey McDonald and Marian Stewart McDonald. Marlene was a University of Georgia graduate, who had a great passion for helping others. She was known for her many dedicated years of service helping in the nursery at the church, her passion for cross stitching, and was a member of Utica Baptist Church.</p><p><br></p><p>Marlene is survived by her children, Matthew Flagg and wife, Charlotte of Spartanburg; Joseph Flagg and wife, Katrina of Seneca; and Bethany Flagg Pipkin and husband, Brian of Seneca; a sister, Vickie McDonald of Watkinsville, Georgia; six grandchildren, Jacquelynne Flagg Cochran (Preston), Sophie Flagg, Chase Flagg, Ava Flagg, Lydia Pipkin and David Pipkin; one great granddaughter on the way, Saylor Cochran.</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to parents and husband, Marlene was preceded in death by a sister; Jean McDonald Preston.</p><p><br></p><p>A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 pm, Thursday, October 6th, 2022 at Utica Baptist Church and a private inurnment will take place at Heritage Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm, Thursday, October 6th, 2022 prior to the service.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>The family is at their respective homes. Flowers are accepted or memorials in Marlene’s memory can be made to Samaritan’s Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
