Years from now, children will be gathered around a campfire to hear about the legend of John “Pete” Peterson. This 69 year old "the man, the myth, the legend" was known for his fun loving, crazy, larger than life personality. He always knew just how to make you smile. Pete absolutely adored his only child Allen Peterson. It really made his day to find out Allen married Misty. Between them both he was given 9 grandchildren (Dakota, Kaylynn, Bryce, Keasha, Brett, Kloe, Aiden, Kasey and Ashten) and 2 great grandchildren (Kaden and Triton). Pete was a ladies man and apparently so is his son. Guess they both have that in common along with them both being quite the prankster. Campfire stories are coming soon. As per his wishes Pete will be laid to rest at Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Monday September 26, 2022 at 10:00 am. To honor his memory a celebration of his life will be held at Paul B Johnson State Park in Hattiesburg, Mississippi on Saturday October 1, 2022 at 5:00 pm. All are welcome to attend to raise a toast in his memory around that campfire. Pete left this world on September 13, 2022 as a Sergeant for the USAF. Pete lived each day to the absolute fullest and never allowed his disability to slow him down. This is not the end but only the beginning.
