<p>Alan G. Ehlers, of Madison, was born on December 25, 1968 to Gary and Linda (Obermier) Ehlers in Omaha, Nebraska.&nbsp; He graduated from Centennial High School in Utica, Nebraska in 1987.&nbsp; On November 25, 1989, Alan was united in marriage to Denise Naber at St. John Lutheran Church in Waco, Nebraska.&nbsp; Alan attended York College graduating in 1996 earning his Bachelors Degree in Education.&nbsp; He then graduated from Doane College in 2002 earning his Master’s Degree and the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 2006 earning his Specialist Degree.&nbsp; Alan began his career as a teacher and coach.&nbsp; He later became a principal and then finally a superintendent.&nbsp; Alan was the current superintendent for Madison Public Schools as well as the&nbsp;Chair of Midtown Health Board.&nbsp; He&nbsp;held various board positions throughout the communities where he has lived including Chamber of Commerce, TeamMates, Park Boards and&nbsp;many others.&nbsp; He was the Madison Chamber Citizen of the Year in 2016.&nbsp; He was always willing to volunteer his time to whoever needed it.&nbsp; Alan’s family meant the world to him and he loved spending time working on his small farm putting up hay with the kids.&nbsp; The past few years have been very special with the addition of grandchildren.&nbsp; Alan passed away on September 27, 2022 in Norfolk, Nebraska at the age of 53 years, 9 months and 2 days.&nbsp; He is survived by his wife, Denise Ehlers of Madison, Nebraska; sons, Jonathan (Krista) Ehlers of Gretna, Nebraska, Barry (Cali) Ehlers of Omaha, Nebraska and Eric Ehlers of Manhattan, Kansas; daughter, Jordan Ehlers of Kearney, Nebraska; grandchildren, Lakely, Bo and Brooks Ehlers; father, Gary Ehlers of Utica, Nebraska; sister, Sharon (Kelly) Hartshorn of Utica, Nebraska; nieces, nephews and other family, Cindy, Jodi, Tom, Kelly and Kris. &nbsp;&nbsp; </p><p>MEMORIALS IN CARE OF EHLERS FAMILY. </p>

Alan G.
