Mulvane - Weitzman, Anita

69, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2022. She was born February 9,1953 to William Weitzman and Albina (Greza) Weitzman in Hempstead, New York. She graduated high school from Oceanside in New York. Anita moved to Arizona, following her parents and lived there for several years. In Arizona she met Michael, the father of their children. They moved to Kansas, Michael's home state, and this is where their little family settled and stayed.

Anita had an in home daycare in order to spend all the time she could with her children. She also worked as a nurse at a local family practice for many years, as well as, the Mulvane High School with special needs children.

Her world was her children and grandchildren. They were a huge part of her purpose on this Earth. Anita also enjoyed gardening and listening to music.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Albina (Greza) Weitzman; father, William Weitzman; step-mother, Sally Weitzman; brother, Fred Weitzman; and step-brother, Phillip Reichelderfer.

Anita is survived by her daughter, Samantha Byers; son, Michael C. Byers, Jr; grandchildren, Addison Rea, Kodi Rea, Isabella Taylor, Daslynn Byers; father of her children, Michael C. Byers, Sr.; brothers, William M. Weitzman, (twin brother) Jack Weitzman, Jeffrey (Natalie) Weitzman; step-sister, Lori Van Der Laski; nieces and nephews, William R. Weitzman, Daniella (Steven) Medina, Derek Weitzman, Gabriel (Tiffany) Weitzman, Anna Weitzman, Netanya (Michael) Sohn, Rand (Crista) Weitzman, Nanette Weitzman, Fred (Kelly) Weitzman, Brianna Weitzman, Sally Staffioti; great-nieces and nephews, Maximus Medina, Christian Medina, Sophia Weitzman, Caleb Weitzman, Phoenix Chapman, Logan Sohn, Alexander Weitzman, Dominic Weitzman, and Max Mitchell.

Funeral Service: 10:00 am, Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Smith Family Mortuary Mulvane Chapel 501 SE Louis Blvd. Mulvane, Kansas 67110. Interment to follow at Mulvane Cemetery.
