Virginia 'Mabel' Meadows, age 99, of Ward Cemetery Road, Corbin, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Baptist Health in Corbin. She was born on February 22, 1917 in Williamsburg, Kentucky to the late Ed and Florence (Wilson) Sutton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hershel A. Meadows; a son Hershel E. Meadows Jr.; three brothers, Emerson Sutton, Frank Sutton and Pat Sutton; sister, Martha Jane (Mattie) Worley; and her son-in-law, Dale Worley. She was a member of White Oak Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Florence Worley of Corbin; ten grandchildren, Michael and June Meadows of Florida, Jeffery and Nancy Meadows of Kentucky, Blinda and Bobby Reeder of Tennessee, Colleen Meadows and Lonzo Davis of Kentucky, Jacqueline and Bill Laney of Tennessee, Pamela and Rick Hooker of Georgia, James (Jim) Peace of Kentucky, Donald and Sherry Peace of Kentucky, Paul Peace of Kentucky and Tracy Peace of Georgia; 19 great-grandchildren; 30 great-great grandchildren; special friend, Ray Cromer; and a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing. Visitation will be after 6:00 P.M. Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Croley Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 27, 2016 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Anthony Carter officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Davis Addition of Highland Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and special friends.
