Josefa America Colon

Josefa America Colon was born in Florida, Puerto Rico on February 22, 1937 and in the 1950's, settled into Williamsburg, Brooklyn with her children Albert, Ivette, Charlie, Joanne. Josefa passed away September 23, 2022 and is survived by her daughter Ivette (and husband Carlos,) Joanne and Charlie; Grandson Vinny (and wife Johanna,) Andrew, Jenice, Michael, Damaris (and fianc Kevin,) and Denise. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Alyssa, Adrien, Isabella and Penelope. She will be remembered as being a beloved mother ("Mami") and grandma and great-grandma ("Grandma ‘Sefa".) She had a heart of an angel, a sweet soul who opened her doors and kitchen to anyone who was in need. She always accepted everyone exactly as they were, flaws and all and loved everyone. A regular on the shopping streets of Graham Avenue, Josefa always enjoyed walking in her community, engaging with friends and fellow parishioners. She had a strong Christian belief and preached loved and acceptance.
