Kenneth Carlson Obituary

Kenneth “Pete” Carlson, 100, of Ft. Collins, Colorado went to see Jesus on September 19, 2022.

Kenneth was born to Berger and Nellie Carlson on June 24th, 1922. He was the 8th of 9 Children. His older brothers did not care for his name so they named him Pete and the name stuck with the family. Kenneth graduated from Galeton High School and them worked with his father on their small dairy farm south of Galeton.

He moved to Seattle and worked at Boeing and took several college classes. Upon moving back to Colorado, Kenneth met Betty at a Christian concert and shortly after they married on July 19th 1947 in Greeley, Colorado. They had one daughter, Renee Moline.

For twenty years Kenneth continued to work on the farm with his father. His next career was as a field man for Production Credit Association where he helped introduce a computerized farm management program called Agrifax.

Kenneth’s life centered around his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. He attended both the Eaton and Ft. Collins Evangelical Free Churches. He sang in the church choir, was on the church board, and was an excellent Sunday school teacher. Kenneth also helped with the college ministry and started Silver and Gold.

Being a farmer, he had a talent for gardening. Betty and Kenneth‘s yard was like a park. After retiring he became a wood worker making everything from Awana gifts to furniture.

Kenneth is survived by his daughter Renee, granddaughter Kirsten Wood (Brian), Britta Ayars (Mike) and 5 wonderful grandchildren Issac, Ella, Eli, Elin and Lena. He was preceded in death by Betty (Wife) Norman (Son in Law) and siblings Elmer, Roy, George, Lovella, John, Harold, Martha and Esther.

Kenneth was a gentle, loving, caring man. Many people consider him their second father and grandfather. No matter where he lived he created a community. Kenneth loved Jesus and his family, caring for neighbors and friends. He will be greatly missed by all.
