Veleta J. (Beck) Jordan 77, of Elkville, Illinois passed away September 16, 2022, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, Illinois.

Veleta was born December 22, 1944, in Little Lake, Arkansas to Carol (Beck) Greenwell.

She enjoyed crosswords, puzzle books, coloring, and just to call anyone and have a nice conversation.

Survivors include two children Michael Jordan and Raymond (Janie Ruble) Jordan, five grandchildren Allena (Lannie) Kernell, Michele (Teddy Law) Shrum, Raymond Jordan JR, Jessica (Sam Albright), and Cody Compton eight great grandchildren Noah Shrum, Adah Riggs, Mataya Riggs, Kloie Jensen, Lily Jordan, Kaydence Price, Paisley Albright, and Elijah David Albright.

Other survivors include one sister Marie “Micky” (Lenny) Fenton and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her mother Carol Greenwell, stepdad Charles Greenwell SR, two brothers Bobby and Danny Greenwell, two sisters Linda Greenwell and Mary Joyce, great granddaughter Laciee Jensen, daughter-in-law Rhonda Jordan, and Danny Ray JR.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, September 22, 2022, at Pettett Funeral Home in Murphysboro, Illinois with Pastor Wes Henson officiating. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at the funeral home with interment at Murdale Gardens of Memory in Murphysboro, Illinois.
