William J. Wolman, 91, of Kingston, PA, passed away peacefully Saturday evening moments after being surrounded by his beloved family while under the excellent care of the compassionate nurses at VA Hospice Care.

Born June 18, 1931, Bill was the youngest son of the late Ted Wolman and Anna Drugatch Wolman of Larksville. Bill served in the US Army, 109th Field Artillery, and was one of the last living survivors of the great train wreck of September 11, 1950. After leaving the service, Bill married Lois Obitz, the love of his life, and would stay by her side for the next 68 years. They had two daughters, Bethann (Callahan) and Elaine (Parry). Work took the young family to both Buffalo, NY and Metuchen, NJ before settling in for good in Kingston, PA. Bill worked many years before retiring from Mideast Aluminum in Mountain Top, PA in 1996. Bill was a force, and he always had a story to tell and a joke to ease the atmosphere. He loved the outdoors, hunting, and fishing, and he passed along his love and knowledge to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed many family vacations in Maine, and many hunting trips with his late brother-in-law, Harry Obitz. While at home, he enjoyed the company of his family, neighbors, and friends on his front porch. A fan of Johnny Cash and country classics, he would always offer to sing far away…

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Anna, his stepmother, Kate, his siblings, Teddy Wolman, Frances Wolman, Lucille Walsh, Pete Tomasek, and Theresa Swedo.

He is survived by his wife, Lois Obitz Wolman, their love will continue to be an inspiration to us all. His sisters, Rosemarie Stema of Swoyersville, Delores Simbrock of Hanover, Geraldine Brady, and Anna Stefanko of Swoyersville. His daughters, Bethann Wolman Callahan and her husband Tom of Shavertown, and Elaine Wolman Parry of Kingston. His grandchildren, Cara Turner of Shavertown, Dan Parry and his wife Rose of Kingston, and Morgan Fielding and her husband John of Loyalville. Bill leaves behind 6 great-grandchildren, Emma, Logan, Bella, Molly, Sose, and Harry, all of whom loved him so very much. Many nieces and nephews who will all miss Uncle Billy. And Lucy, the most pampered of felines.

There will be a graveside service on Saturday, Sept 10, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Memorial Shrine Memorial Cemetery in Wyoming, PA.
