Larry Gene Crowell, 71, of Murphysboro, Illinois passed away August 25, 2022 at his residence in Murphysboro, Illinois.

Larry was born July 12, 1951 in Carbondale, Illinois to Donald and Velma (Gower) Crowell.

He married Rebecca (Robinson) on May 29, 1974 in Jackson County, Illinois and she survives.

Larry loved fishing, drawing and horses. He was a cowboy at heart and he spent many years volunteering at Giant City Stables.

Survivors include his wife Rebecca Crowell of Murphysboro, two children Rachel (Andrew) Ott of Herrin, IL, Erin (Carl) Murray of Murphysboro, IL, and two grandchildren, Cassidee and Caiden Murray also of Murphysboro.

Other survivors include his sister Sandy Birtsch and two brothers, Michael and W.Scott Crowell.

He is preceded in death by his parents Donald and Velma Crowell.

His body will be cremated, and no services are planned at this time.
