Mark Wayne Chaytor (May 10th, 1973 - August 30th, 2022)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mark Wayne Chaytor, age 49 years. After a courageous battle with cancer, Mark passed at the Health Sciences Centre on August 30th, 2022.

He leaves to mourn his loving wife, Jennifer; his three beloved girls Ericka, Addison and Courtney; parents Irene and Wayne Chaytor; brother Brian (Tanya); niece Isabella; parents-in-law Bridie and Joey Carew; brother-in-law Joseph and a large circle of friends from the Martial Arts Community and Her Majesty’s Penitentiary.

Mark was a charismatic man and made friends wherever he went. Mark was passionate about Martial Arts and held a Black Belt in Kenpo Karate and a Purple Belt in Brazilian Jujitsu. He also took great pride in his work at Her Majesty’s Penitentiary and truly loved his friends that he worked alongside every day.

Mark’s pride and joy was his three daughters. They were truly his world and they will miss their Dad dearly.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the exceptional medical team that cared for Mark; Dr. Armstrong, Dr. Hogan, Dr. Quigley, Dr. Wells and all the kind-hearted staff at the Cancer Centre.

Cremation has taken place at the request of the family. Visitation to take place at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue, Mt. Pearl on Sunday, September 4th and Monday, September 5th from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial to take place at Barrett’s Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, September 6th, 2022 at 2:00pm. Interment to follow at St. Kevin’s Roman Catholic Cemetery. The service will be live streamed for those wishing to attend virtually following the link provided on Barrett’s website.
