Dennis J. Sant Sr. of Brewster, NY, passed away unexpectedly Friday August 26, 2022, in Carmel, NY at the age of 75.  Dennis was born March 15, 1947, in Bronx, NY, son of the late Salvatore and Edith (Pena) Sant. They moved from NYC to Goldens Bridge NY before settling in Brewster NY. He was a 1966 graduate of Brewster high school, 1968 graduate of Sullivan College, and an Air Force Veteran (1968-1972).
Dennis loved family and friends. If you met Dennis as a stranger, you left with a new friend. To know him was to love him. One could often find Dennis in his backyard with music playing, a fire pit lit, and enjoying another day with family and friends.
Dennis loved sports and excelled at football. In High School, football nights would bring out the community, and Dennis never failed to give them a show of excellence on the field. Later as an adult he studied Martial Arts and excelled to the teacher level of "Sifu." After college, he served our country in the US Air Force stationed at Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama. Dennis later proudly served his community for over 30 years as Deputy County Clerk and later County Clerk of Putnam County. He was Auxiliary past President and Trustee of the Brewster VFW Post 672.  After retirement, Dennis continued to enjoy days at the lake, family vacations, writing, biking, moments with friends and family, and spending sunrise to sunset with his adoring wife Kathleen. Most recently he enjoyed working on a book about hidden mysteries in Putnam County.
Dennis loved and accomplished many things, but his greatest love, and most important decision was in 1977 when he trusted in Jesus as the Lord and savior of his life. He shared this treasure of his faith with his children and all who knew him. It was the most important thing he could have passed on to his children and grandchildren. We know he was welcomed into the arms of his Heavenly Father.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents Salvatore and Edith Sant, his brother Ron Sant, and his first wife Elizabeth Sant.
Dennis is survived by his wife Kathleen (Sharkey) Sant, his brother Phil Sant, his 5 children and their spouses: Dennis Sant Jr and Lora Sant, Kristina and Eric Mongillo, Dawn and Carl Lawson, Rachel and Christian Zambrano, Elizabeth and David Ramirez, and 19 grandchildren.

 A funeral service will take place on Friday September 2, 2022, at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church on Main Street in Brewster, followed by the interment in June cemetery in North Salem, NY. Calling hours will be held on Thursday September 1, 2022, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave., Brewster, NY.
