ANTHONY “Monk” MORELLI
On January 28, 2017, age 81 of White Horse Village since September of 2016, formerly of Telford for 20
years and Broomall for 25+ years. Born in Upper Darby and a 1953 graduate of Upper Darby
High School and a graduate of Moravian College with a BS degree in Business. He was the
Founder and President of AM Industries that originally started in Newtown Square in 1970, then
moved to Broomall and then Lawrence Park Industrial complex before moving to Lansdale. He
was still active in the day to day operations of his company, until his health would not permit him
to do so this past June.
He formerly was a member of St. Marks United Methodist church in Broomall from 1973 to 1998, but has most
recently been a member of Little Zion Lutheran Church in Telford, where he was active with the
budget committee and was the founding member of the Endowment Committee. Mr. Morelli was
a former trustee at Moravian College from 2006-2010, on the College Alumni Board from 1998-
2005, a Medallion of Merit Recipient in 2011, a Pinnacle Award Recipient in 2016, Omicron
Gamma Omega Alumni Board, OGO President, and established the OGO - Monk Scholarship
Fund at Moravian College, he was a responsible for the re-admission of the OGO Fraternity to
the college. He lived his life by strong principles, one being by the OGO Motto. “Give when ever
you can, take only when you must, and you shall receive more than you give. Be a man, be an
OGO”. A Quote from the President of Moravian College, Pres. Grigsby says “The man bled
Blue and Grey more than any man I ever met”.
Mr. Morelli was also active with the Broomall Rotary, helping for many years with the 4th of July
Parade. He was the first president of the PTO at Brown Elementary School in Broomall and
active with the South Marple Little League as a manager.
He is survived by his wife Patricia Ann (Nee Albright) , whom he married on June 20th of 1959. He is
survived by his children; Leonard M. (Jen) Morelli of Jacksonville, FL, Mentana (Robert)
Carpenter of Logan Twp., NJ and Anthony M. (Carmel) Morelli of Melbourne, FL, six
grandchildren and a sister Mentana Almond of Newtown Square., he was predeceased by a sister.
Relatives and friends are invited to his calling on Friday eve 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Frank C.
Videon Funeral Home, 2001 Sproul Rd., Broomall. A funeral service will be held Saturday at
10:30 AM in Little Zion Church, Telford, with interment to follow in the Church cemetery.
