James Todd Burris

After a hard, but short battle with colon cancer, James Todd Burris, age 58, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2022. James was born May 27, 1964, in Fort Worth, TX to Herbert and Ray Burris. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022, from 2:00pm – 4:00pm at Galbreaith Pickard Hilltop Chapel in Willow Park, TX. James was proceeded in death by his, father, Herbert Burris and mother, Ray Burris. He is survived by, sister, Linda Dixon of Fort Worth, TX, and brothers, Mike Burris and wife Rhuenell of Weatherford, TX, Phil Burris and wife Rebel of Fort Worth, TX, Ricky Burris of Fort Worth, TX along with many nieces, nephews, and friends he considered family. James attended White Settlement schools and graduated from Brewer High School in 1982. Throughout his adult life, James worked at Lockheed Martin, MJ Designs, the City of Fort Worth, the National Cutting Horse Association and Trinity Metro. For a time, he owned Cherry Lane Flowers in White Settlement, TX. James was a talented floral designer who made many brides dreams’ come true with his beautiful work. He loved all things New York and visited often to attend as many Broadway shows as possible. Christmas was James’s favorite time of the year. His love of Christmas ornaments allowed him to decorate many beautiful Christmas trees each year that were magazine worthy. James will be greatly missed by family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to The Broadway League (https://www.broadwayleague.com/donate/) in his honor.
