Mr. Ray I. Stull, Sr., 79, of Greencastle, PA, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2022 in his home where he had been in declining health for the past few months. Born August 9, 1943 near Quincy, PA, he was 1 of 15 children born to the late Hanzy and C. Almeda (Patterson) Stull. Mr. Stull lived his youth in and around the Waynesboro area. He loved playing baseball and softball, being active in numerous leagues while growing up. He married Betty L. Timmons on January 19, 1963 in Hagerstown, MD. In 1969, Ray and Betty moved to their longtime residence on Burkett Road, Greencastle for the remainder of his life. They raised four children in their homestead over those years. Mr. Stull was employed by Nitterhouse Concrete in Chambersburg, PA for 42 years. He retired in 2007. In his spare time, Mr. Stull coached baseball and helped with Boy Scouts of America in Upton, PA. He loved his sports teams, the Baltimore Orioles, Baltimore/Indianapolis Colts, Notre Dame Fighting Irish Football and NASCAR Racing, especially drive Mark Martin. Mr. Stull was known throughout the area to have one of the largest NASCAR Collections. Many would stop by his home to see this extensive collection. He was a member of Brandts Church in St. Thomas, PA where he served as a greeter for many years and helped count the church offering. Mr. Stull is survived by his wife of over 59 years, Mrs. Betty L. (Timmons) Stull; children, Ray I. Stull, Jr. and his wife, Joey L. Thomas, Candace D. (Stull) McCauley and her husband, Andy, Tim Hartman and Wes B. Stull; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, Hanzy Stull, Jr. (Mabel); three sisters, Goldie Scott, Juanita Swartz (Michael) and Dolly Ebersole (Dave); sisters-in-law, Martha and Donna; and a number of nieces and nephews as well as a host of extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, Mr. Stull was preceded in death by six brothers, Reynolds Stull, Eugene Stull, Chauncey “Tucker” Stull, Earl “Obie” Stull, Horkey Stull and Arnold Stull; and four sisters, Betty McFerren, Patsy Crider, Nancy DeHart and Flory Stull. Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, August 20, 2022 in Brandts Church of the Brethren, 8003 Brandts Church Road, St. Thomas, PA with the Rev. Roger Myers officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery, near Quincy, PA. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Friday evening, in Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 S.
