George "Dick" Stradley

Lt. George "Dick" Richard Stradley, age 91 of Sevierville, formerly of Bronson, Kansas, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2017 at his home. He loved to garden and enjoyed wood working. He was a Hall of Fame member of Bronson (Kansas) High School Alumni. Lt. Stradley was a retired WWII veteran with 24 years of service in the US Navy and served on the USS Forrestal. He was a charter member of Evergreen Presbyterian Church serving as Elder and Clerk of Session. He was also a member of Sevierville Lions Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Gladys Stradley; sister, Dena Pannemann; brother-in-law, Larry Pannemann; first wife, Betty Jane; son-in-law, Delmar Dennis; second wife, Nahia Ann; and grandson, Samuel Stradley. Survivors: Wife: Vickie Sue Stradley; Daughter: Nancy Dennis; Sons: David Stradley of Madison Alabama, Richard Stradley and wife Christi of Cody, Wyoming; Grandchildren: Andy Dennis, Stephen Dennis and wife Jenny, Melanie Christian and husband Brian; Great-grandchildren: Brian Christian and wife Esmilsa, Immanuel Christian, Savannah Smelcer and husband Wesley, Michaela Sacayon and husband Jose, Olivia Christian, Tessa Dennis, Caitlin Dennis, Dakota Dennis, Montana Dennis, Beau Christian, Carrie Christian, and Brady Christian; Great-great grandchildren: CrystaLynne Smelcer, Dominique Sacayon, Isabela Christian, and Gabriella Sacayon; Nephew: Timothy Duggins, Sr. and wife Lori and children Jacqueline, Tim and Megan; Niece: Paula Loveless and husband Dennis and children Jessica and Dylan. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Evergreen Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 5830, Sevierville, TN 37864 or through their website at www.evergreentn.com. Funeral service 7 PM Wednesday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home. Interment 2 PM Thursday in East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery (on John Sevier Highway) with full military honors provided by American Legion Post #104.
