Joseph Laris Catoire Obituary

Mr. Joseph Laris Catoire, age 73 of Mamou, Louisiana entered eternal rest on Thursday, August 11, 2022.

Joseph was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Patricia Catoire; his parents, Paul and Evelyn Catoire; grandson, Derrick Chapman, Jr.; and five siblings, Landris Catoire, Charles Catoire, Uyless Catoire, Velma Deville, and Mary Jane Vidrine.

Those left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Annette Foreman (Michael) and Theresa Castille (Dale); seven grandchildren, Megan Gaspard (Junios), Christopher West, Jr., Daphne Chapman, Tori Castille, Brittany Catoire, Tyler Chapman, and Olivia Castille; five great grandchildren, Kelsey, Kylie, Zadden, Xavier, and Rhyia; one cat, Catdog; and a host of family and friends.

Joseph was in the Army for 4 years, stationed in Germany and was in the Vietnam War. Joseph really enjoyed listening to cajun-french music on KBON 101.1 and he liked to listen to it very loudly. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren and telling them stories. He especially loved his cats. He was a man that loved to talk. He loved to talk about his old army days, tanks, coffee and cigarettes. He very dearly miss his best friend, which was his wife Patricia. They are now reunited. Joseph will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

There will be a celebration of life for Joseph at his granddaughter Megan's house. This will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022. Megan's address is 2043 LD Verette Rd in Mamou, Louisiana.
