On August 8 at 2:00 a.m., Ted Sorochynski, with his daughters by his side, took his last breath, and his journey home.

Ted was born January 30, 1947, in Strathclair Manitoba to Nicholas and Carrie Sorochynski. He was raised in the Kello area where he went to school from grade 1 till 8 and finished the rest of his education at Shoal Lake Collegiate. During that time in the late 50's and early 60's he helped on the family farm. In 1967 Ted took a heavy duty mechanics course at ACE in Brandon. After he completed the course, he worked for CCIL in Wainwright Alberta and Melfort Saskatchewan. In 1970 he moved to Winnipeg and worked at Arnold Brothers Transport. During this time, he met his future wife Shirley Yaskiw and got married August 28, 1971. In 1972 he worked for Paramount Kenworth till 1977. During this time, they had two beautiful girls Monica who was born 1972 and Carolyn in 1975. They all moved to Russell Manitoba where he worked at Clements Farm Equipment. While in Russell he joined the Knights of Columbus and was on the executive of St. Joseph’s parish church. He was in bowling, curling and a ball leagues, and loved going fishing, ice fishing, and camping with his family. In 1985 he took a position in Saskatoon with Unitel Communications as a field Diesel technician. They all lived in Warman, he spent much time traveling across the province maintaining communication sites. In 1995 he was laid off. In April 1995 he took a position at Yellowhead Equipment in Neepawa Manitoba where he worked very hard as the service manager. When in Neepawa he joined the Lions Club, he was secretary for 2 years and president for 1 year was also a director and volunteered whenever possible on Lions projects. He was also a member of Neepawa Curling Club and a member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Dominic’s. While in Neepawa he became a gega 4 times to Nicholas, Makayla, Nicole and Cody.
