James Allen Koopman
<p>James Allen Koopman, 50, passed away on Monday, August 8, 2022 at Munster Community Hospital.</p> <p>James was born on February 26, 1972 in El Paso, TX, to James Koopman and Jennie (Mesman) Kornas.</p> <p>Surviving James are his father, James Koopman of Lakeville; mother, Jennie Kornas of Gary; sister, Lisa (Josh) Rice of Tyner; brother, Joe Koopman of Gary; stepdaughter, Kayla (Buck) Sarver of Union Mills; girlfriend, Kim Garay of La Porte; as well as many nieces and nephews.</p> <p>James was a mechanic for 30 years at Sauers and many other dealerships. He was a member the American Legion. James enjoyed golfing, kayaking, shooting darts, and playing pool.</p> <p>He was a generous man, willing to help those he loved. James' generosity continued in death as his organs have been donated to help those in need.</p> <p>A Celebration of Life Memorial Gathering will take place from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 15, 2022, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center. </p> <p>Memorial contributions may be directed to the family c/o Lisa Rice, 2900 Monroe Street, La Porte, IN 46350 or to the donor's choice.</p> <p>Condolences may be shared online at www.cutlercares.com.</p>Obituary
