Arlene F. Burke Obituary

BURKE – Arlene (Lizine), 75, passed away on August 9, 2022, after a brief illness surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth “Sue” (Cabana) Lizine. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert F. Burke. Arlene was born in Dorchester. She was married to Robert for 30 years and raised their 4 boys. She loved her Disney vacations with the family and weekly visits to the Flea Market and as well spending the weekends with her grandkids.

Arlene was the loving mother of Joseph and his wife Patricia of Hanson, Patrick and his wife Susan of Hanson, Derek and his wife Jessica of Dorchester and Robert of Abington. The loving and proud Nana of Ashley O’Dell (Andrew O’Dell) of Whitman, Victoria and Zachary Burke of Hanson, Curtis and Ella Burke of Hanson, Jack and Sarah Burke of Dorchester, Kevin Hazelton, Christian and Sean Burke of Abington. Great-Grandmother “GIGI” of Natalie and Brooke O’Dell. Arlene is also survived by her devoted sisters Beverly Pierce of Weymouth, Elizabeth “Liz” Morse of NH, Agnes Carter of Roslindale and loving brothers Charlie Lizine of Brockton,  Robert Lizine (Susan) of Marshfield, sisters-in-law Noreen Hosea (Carl) of Quincy and Gloria Burke of Weymouth. Arlene was predeceased by her brother Richard Lizine of Dorchester. She also leaves behind many devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, friends and neighbors. 

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 16th at the John J. O’Connor & Son Funeral Home, 740 Adams St., Dorchester at 10:00AM. Interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

Visiting hours will be Monday, August 15th from 4 – 8 PM in the funeral home.
