Betty Jane (Schell) Bailey

Age 87, of Warsaw, passed away on August 8, 2022 at home. Betty was born December 29, 1934 in Buffalo, NY to the late Henry P. and Lorraine Gloss Schell. She was raised and lived her entire life in Warsaw. Betty attended Warsaw Central School. She was employed by Mallory Timers Co., East Side Nursing Home as a nurse’s aide, and Wyoming County Community Hospital in the dietary department. Betty was a pastor’s wife. She and her husband, Rev. J.L. Bailey founded Mt. Zion Tabernacle Church and campground. Betty is predeceased by her husband, Rev. J.L. Bailey who passed in 2000; her daughter, Sherry Lee Bailey; her siblings, Richard (Beatrice) Schell, Henry Schell, Beverly (Douglas) Hogate. She is survived by her children, Laura (Richard) Yarnes of Ashland City, TN, Jeff (Kerensa) Bailey of Hendersonville, TN, Karen Abell of Warsaw, Linda (Michael) Wombles of Warsaw, Richard “Buzz” Bailey of Warsaw, Jay (Kimberly) Bailey of New Middletown, IN, Daniel (Kimberly) Bailey of Louisville, KY; siblings, Robert (Karen) Schell of Warsaw, Carol Greene of Rochester; sisters-in-law, Wilma Bailey of North Vernon, Margret Bailey of Warsaw, Debbie Bailey of Warsaw, Diane Schell of Warsaw; 18 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Friday, August 12th from 12 – 2 PM at Mt. Zion Tabernacle Church, Broughton Rd., Silver Springs, where Betty’s funeral service will be held immediately following at 2 PM. Burial will take place in Grace Cemetery, Castile. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Zion Tabernacle Church, 5503 Broughton Rd., Silver Springs, NY 14550.
