Obituary
Arden Lorraine Tanner McArthur Gotfredson, 88, Chubbuck, Idaho passed away peacefully on August 9, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
Arden was born on August 22, 1933, in Penrose, Wyoming. She was the 6th child out of 10. Born to Vincent and Florence Tanner. When a fire destroyed their home they moved to Byron, Wyoming where she grew up and completed high school.
Arden married Dean Heber McArthur July 22, 1952, in the Idaho Falls Temple. Raising her family in Lovell, Arden taught kindergarten, helped on the farm, was involved with roadshows, and was an excellent cook. Arden loved to serve and could often be found cutting and doing hair for the neighbors and missionaries. Arden was a glamorous woman who loved singing, dancing, and she loved her 9 children and extended family dearly.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and held various callings including Relief Society President, Compassionate Service Leader, and in the Stake Relief Society. She had the privilege of serving in the Johannesburg, South Africa mission and in the Lindon Cannery.
Arden is survived by her husband James D. Gotfredson of 8 years, her children Max (Shaun) McArthur, Lindon, UT, Marie (Scott) Campbell, Chubbuck, ID, Meg (Dan) Anderson, Lovell, WY, Michele (Chad) Johnson, Brigham City, UT, Minda Brinkerhoff, Chubbuck, ID, Mike (Kisha) McArthur, Lovell, WY, Mia (Robert) Benkenstein, Pocatello, ID, Mel (Jennifer) McArthur, Lovell, WY and Marc (Tracy) McArthur, Powell, WY. 49 Grandchildren, 136 great-grandchildren, and her siblings Ramona Fullmer, UT, Charles Tanner, UT, Noel Tanner, Nevada and Reha Dawn Sanstead, Minnesota.
A Celebration of Life is planned from 2:00 – 4:00 pm on August 11, 2022 at the Cornelison Funeral Home, 431 N 15th Ave, Pocatello, ID 83201.
A funeral will be held in the Lovell Wyoming Stake Center, Saturday August 13, 2022 at 10 am with family prayer at 9:30. Interment will be at the Lovell Cemetery.
