Lorraine Shirley Christensen

Lorraine Shirley (Spoon) Christensen passed away August 4, 2022, at 87. She was the eldest of<br>five children, born in Winnett, MT on March 23, 1935 to Glen and Elma Spoon (deceased). The<br>family moved to Westport, WA, where Lorraine attended elementary school and graduated<br>from Ocosta High School in 1953. Hard working from an early age, she worked in the seafood<br>and hospitality industries in Westport, and Astoria and Warrenton, OR while also raising her 6<br>children. She moved to Boise, ID where she enjoyed gardening, fishing and camping. She<br>worked for the Idaho Auto Dealers Association for many years before returning to Westport in<br>1997 to be closer to her grandchildren. Never one to sit still, she worked for Westport<br>Windermere Real Estate before retiring at age 82.<br>Lorraine was an avid sports fan and loved to watch Seattle Mariners baseball. She loved to sew<br>and do crafts, learning to sew at a young age, and was a seamstress her entire life. She sewed<br>beautiful things that brought much joy to her family, friends, and even people she didn’t know.<br>She won several state fair ribbons for her meticulous and detailed handmade Barbie Doll<br>clothes. She was also a wonderful baker who won ribbons for her cakes.<br>Lorraine will be terribly missed by so many. She is survived by two brothers, Gary Spoon<br>(Easton, WA), and Lloyd Spoon (Apache Junction, AZ), and a sister Marilyn Spoon (Puyallup,<br>WA), and by six children: Bill Thomas Jr. (Leah Thomas) Tokeland, WA; Jackie Thomas and Janet<br>Woolum, Tempe, AZ; Cathy Whitney (Ted Poole), Westport, WA; Genelle Charette (Michael<br>Wiley), Boise, ID; and Scott Charette (Aimee Mascho), Puyallup, WA. She had six grandchildren<br>and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother Monty Spoon.<br>In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to the National Parkinson’s<br>Foundation.
