Joetta Sage Maurer, 55, of Weatherford, Oklahoma, passed away at 4:55 p.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. She was born on January 13, 1967.

Joetta was raised in Colony and Weatherford attending school at Weatherford Public schools. She attended Parkland Community College in Champaign, Illinois and graduated in the class of 2010.

Joetta was survived by her partner, Eric D. MacNeil, of Evansville, Indiana; one daughter, Cayla Cheyenne Maurer, of Carmel, Indiana; one sister, Edna Grace Bowen, of Weatherford, Oklahoma; and one brother, David Wayne Sage, of Seattle, Washington.

Joetta was preceded in death by her parents Victor and Lorene (Cross) Sagebark of Weatherford, Oklahoma; one sister, Agnes Marie Sagebark; and four brothers, William, Orren, and Darrell; and her son, Christopher Shane Maurer.

No funeral or memorial service is immediately planned. The family will notify loved ones in the future when a service is planned. Joetta will be laid to rest in the Colony Indian Cemetery in Washita County, Oklahoma.
