Michael "Mike" Navarre

Michael A. “Mike” Navarre, 53, died Saturday, Aug. 6, of a heart attack. He was born in Green Bay to Roger and Joanne Navarre on May 3, 1969, attended St. John’s elementary school in Green Bay and graduated from Denmark High School and the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. He married Heather Chapel at Old St. Joseph Church, De Pere, in 1994. Mike subsequently moved to Spokane, WA and then Seattle, where he worked for Georgia-Pacific and received multiple national sales awards. Mike cherished his two children, Lilly and Liam, and was proud of their many accomplishments. He enjoyed cooking, sports and being outdoors and was an avid fan of his hometown Green Bay Packers, Lilly’s Montana State Bobcats (particularly her golf team) and Liam’s Gonzaga University Bulldogs. Mike’s natural curiosity led him to closely follow the news and to take a keen interest in government and politics. Mike is survived by his children, Lilly and Liam; two brothers, Steve Navarre of Green Bay and Dave (Miann) Navarre of Milwaukee; his mother, Joanne Zipperer; aunts and an uncle, Patricia Ziefle, Judy and Don LeMere and Janice Yagodzinski; nieces and nephews, Maggie, Sarah, Ben and Will; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Florence Ziefle; paternal grandparents, Cyril and Katherine Navarre; father, Roger Navarre; stepfather, Jim Zipperer; aunts and uncles, Joan (Navarre) Ritter, Richard Navarre and Jerry Ziefle; and close friend, Caleb Chapel. The family invites relatives and friends to a celebration of life at the Cotter Funeral Home, 536 County Road R in Denmark, WI on Friday, Aug. 12 from 4 to 7 p.m. Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care is assisting the family.
