Nicholas P. Davis Obituary

CANAAN-Nicholas “Nick” Philip Davis left his lifetime, hometown of Canaan, Maine, on August 6, 2022, after a fun filled day of laughs and smiles with his kids and family, celebrating his “princess” Emma’s 7th birthday. Nick was born on January 5, 1988, to Brett and Roberta Davis. He was a loving son, brother, nephew, father, amazing partner, uncle and friend. Nick was a rugged, stubborn, loving, caring, burley man, but if you knew him, he was as gentle as a hummingbird. He would always be the first one to stick up for his family and friends with a shoulder to cry on. His smile would light up a room. He was a great provider for his family and a hell raiser for his friends. It is safe to say that Nick lived life to the fullest, every minute of every day, always looking for new goals to reach and never passing by someone in need. Nick became a young father at the age of 16 to his firstborn son, Kobyn. Always wanting to show his kids a good work ethic, he started his first company that same year. He continued in the trucking industry creating new side businesses along the way. His most enjoyment was hauling cattle out west. He was always up for a challenge and there was no opportunity big or small that he wasn’t ready to face head on with 110% commitment. He was proud of his accomplishments and always wanted his family to be just as proud. He loved his Kenworth “debt collector” show truck that he built up on his own. You would find him working on it with Mason and Brice by his side, continuing his fatherly duties on showing his kids just how to be a hardworking man but enjoying it all at the same time. He even allowed eight year old Mason to paint his frame even though he hated paint runs. Nick had many hobbies that he enjoyed. He raised cows, the latest was surprising Christina with a Scottish Highland. He loved his dog, Mack, a cane Corso, who he would tell you was his best friend. Nick enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and grilling with his family. He could grill any piece of meat and make it taste good and he was always up to challenge anyone that was willing. He loved his motorcycle that he built up on his own to just give it that “Nick touch” that no one else had. With his strong will, he would never give up on hunting, even though he wouldn’t touch the deer because he was allergic. He would get on his orange, go out before the sun came up, shoot the deer-- because he had luck like no other- -then call his dad to come take care of it. He shot his first one, an 8 pointer, when he was 13, sitting in the tree stand he built with his dad. Nick was a Mason, belonging to the Carrabassett Lodge #161. He was very proud of that and made sure that by adding Masonic stickers to the back of his Kenworth. He is survived by his parents, Brett and Roberta of Canaan; longtime partner of 12 years, Christina Baiko; children: Kobyn Mitchell, Mason Davis, Emma Davis, and Brice Davis; brothers: Josh Davis and Tyler (companion, Alycia) Davis, who he left with many childhood memories to cherish forever; special nephew, Miles Davis, who adored his “Cunkle Nick”; grandmother, Florence McEwen; aunts: Janie Libby, Lisa Gallant, Sandra Benner, and Fran Davis; uncle, Randy Bragdon; cousins: Justin Moore, Jessica Wells, Salena Mason, and Kathy Benner; and so many more cousins, friends and acquaintances that thought the world of him. He was predeceased by his grandfather, Vernon Davis Sr; grandmother, Marcia Davis; grandfather, Robert McEwen; uncles, Vernon Davis Jr and Davis G. Davis; and aunts, Ruth Brown and Judy Bragdon. We love you so much, Nick, give Heaven some hell. No services are scheduled at this time but a remembrance of his life will be held by his family and friends.
