Marion M. Rice
<p>Newport, NH: Marion Lockhart Rice, born March 16, 1931 in Fall River, Massachusetts, daughter of Howard A. Lockhart and Elisabeth Dunham Lockhart.</p> <p>A graduate of Haverhill High and Addison Gilbert School of Nursing in Gloucester, Massachusetts. She is the widow of Ransom A. Rice.</p> <p>During her lifetime she was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, Newport Hospital Gift Shoppe, Brownie Leader and Den Mother.</p> <p>In church life she was a Deacon, on the Hospitality Committee and Parish Relations Committee. She also sang in the church choir for years, a member of the Evening Circle, and was involved with the Church Bazaar.</p> <p>She was predeceased by her parents, her brother Theodore Lockhart, and her sister Helen Lockhart. She is survived by children, Bruce Rice and his wife Linda; Lawrence Rice; Laurie Beebe and her husband Curtis; sister in law, Carolyn Lockhart; her five grandchildren: Mallori Parker, Molly Botenhagen, Lindsey Rice, Curtis Beebe and Arielle Beebe; her great grandchildren, Reagan and Carter Botenhagen; and several nieces and nephews.</p> <p>A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 11:00 AM at South Congregational Church in Newport. </p> <p>In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Upper Valley Humane Society, South Congregational Church, or Richards Library.</p>March 16, 1931 - August 7, 202203/16/193108/07/2022

Was sad to read of Mrs Rice's passing, she was such a wonderful lady. Always enjoyed our visits in the store. My condolences go out to the Rice family.

Marion was such a wonderful person and always so kind. Our favorite memory is when we were attending mens softball and she agreed to go to see Jaws with our young son who to this day calls her his first date
