Benedict J. Beiso

In loving memory of Benedict J. Beiso of Cape Coral, FL. Ben resided with his daughter Therese. He passed peacefully at his home with his children by his side. <br>Ben was 91 years old and remained healthy until shortly before his death. He was the son of the late Rocco and Julia Hawkins of Troy, NY. <br>He graduated from Le Salle Institute and attended various colleges until he married Irene Grandilly of Cohoes, NY in 1952, moving to Cheshire, MA in 1964 where they resided until her death. <br>Ben was a Korean War Veteran on the USS Tripoli, shortly after leaving the Navy he joined GE Ordinance where he remained until his retirement, whereafter he drove the local school bus for Dufour. <br>Predeceased by his beloved wife of 59 years and his son Daniel. He leaves behind his son Dennis and wife Debra, daughters Therese and Darleen Beiso Healy and her husband Dennis, grandson Joshua Healy and wife Amanda, 3 great grandchildren Ben, Izzabella and Jameson, grandson Jordan Healy and wife Jenn, sister Glorianne Colarusso. His best friends Bill and Shirley Oliver who assisted in his care and spent time with him at his favorite place, the Casino. Ben loved the horses, poker and spaghetti and meatballs. <br>In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to The Berkshire Humane Society thru Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201. There will be no calling hours and services will be held at a later date at Cheshire Cemetery.
