Ruth A Ulmanic Obituary

Ruth A. Ulmanic, 78, was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, from her home in Spring Mills. Born on September 28, 1943, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Ruth (Krebs) Lenker. She married her one true love, Fred J. Ulmanic, who preceded her in death on May 29, 1973.

Ruth graduated from State College High School in 1961. She worked as a bookkeeper and accountant for Valley GMC for over 10 years and then for State College Ford for more than 20 years.

Ruth was a member of the St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Centre Hall. She enjoyed spending time bird watching and sunbathing. She loved antiquing and was a big fan of PSU football and wrestling. Her love of horses started when she was a young girl, reminiscing about her days riding with her childhood friends, many with whom she continued to meet for luncheons and gatherings. She was a strong woman and surrounded herself with other strong women. She was widowed young, raised three children, worked full-time, worked hard, and loved her family even harder. She was giving, caring, compassionate, and a true caretaker. She believed in finishing what you start with 110% effort. She embodied those words on a daily basis. She always put her family first, placed the children's needs above her own, and remained the matriarch of the family. Although her absence is felt deeply by all those that loved her, the memories they shared will forever be cherished and she has been reunited with her husband once again.

Ruth is survived by one son, Todd Ulmanic of Centre Hall; two daughters, Shawnee Heckman and her husband, Brett, of Spring Mills, and Nellie Miller and her husband, Doug, of Boiling Springs; five grandchildren, Kyleen Woodward, Brandi Barnhart and her husband, Tyler, Trevor Heckman and his fiancé, Kira, Cassondra Ulmanic, and Dalton Ulmanic; and one brother, Robert Lenker of Shermans Dale.

Following Ruth’s wishes, there will be no services at this time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Ruth’s memory to the Central PA Horse Rescue, 100 Spanglers Road, Lewisberry, PA 17339.
