Mr. Orenzo Jason Redd, 41, of Red Oak, VA entered eternal rest on Thursday, August 4, 2022. Mr. Redd was born on July 13, 1981 in Halifax County, VA to George and Maxine Wood Redd. At an early age, he joined First Baptist Church of Wylliesburg, VA. Mr. Redd received his education in the public schools of Charlotte County, VA, and was formerly employed by Pallet One in Chase City. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Tabitha Louise Redd and Crystal Michelle Redd; his paternal and maternal grandparents, and a special uncle, Roy Boyd. He leaves to cherish is loving memory his daughter, Lyric Nicole Martin of Capital Heights, MD; parents, George and Maxine Wood Redd of Saxe, VA; brother, George Wood (Yolanda) of Boydton, VA; special cousin raised as a brother, Leroy Wood of Roanoke, VA; four sisters, Shavon Redd and Maxine Redd both of Saxe, VA, Evelyn Fields (Andre) of Red Oak, VA and Latasha Staten of Richmond, VA; six aunts; six uncles with two he considered as brothers, Vernon Wood and Richard (Chello) Wood; a host of nieces and nephews; god-brother, Demetrius Staten; special friends Mack Skipper and Niles Atwater, and a host of other loving relatives and caring friends too numerous to name. Graveside services for Mr. Orenzo Jason Redd will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at First Baptist Church Cemetery, Drakes Branch, VA with Rev. Opie Terrell, officiating. Public viewing will be held on Monday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. A mask is required for all viewings. Arrangements are by Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Chase City, VA.
