VIRGINIA BEACH - Janette C. Kresse, 70, died at Virginia Beach General Hospital on August 4, 2022. She was born July 5, 1952 at Depaul Hospital in Norfolk, the daughter of Archie and Mary (Adams) Pilkington. A former childhood member of the Azalea Garden Church of God in Norfolk. Janette went to Maury High School, class of 70’. She married William L. Kresse on November 18, 1973, and celebrated their 48th anniversary last year. She had worked at Catherine's Stout Shop, Standard Office Supply, Advance Marine Enterprises, and Sandler foods before retiring to become a full time mother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her sister, Rita Purdy. Surviving in addition to her husband, William, 72, is their only son, Vincent, 31, her brother Archie (Wade) Pilkington, 75 and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. In addition, she will be deeply missed by her sister’s daughter Bobbie and her family, and her husbands’ families of Robert, Brian, and Louis Kresse. A service of remembrance will be held 11am Monday August 8 at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, 1457 Independence Blvd, Virginia Beach. A one hour viewing will happen prior to the service. A get-together for family and friends will be held at 2pm at a private residence, 449 Centerville Turnpike S, Chesapeake. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to the VB SPCA or the Virginia Beach Animal Care & Adoption Center on Birdneck Rd.Obituary
