<p>Lelia Patricia Finnegan (nee Feighan) of Pearl River, NY and previously longtime resident of Hastings-on-Hudson, NY, died peacefully at her home at approximately 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2022.&nbsp; She was 92 years old.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Mrs. Finnegan was born to Michael Feighan (d. December 29, 1970) and Margaret Alice Feighan (nee O&rsquo;Loughlin) (d. June 13, 1948) on March 26, 1930 in Sheetrim townland near the small village of Cullyhanna in County Armagh, Northern Ireland.&nbsp; While studying in England to become a nurse, she returned to Ireland upon her mother&rsquo;s sudden death from a stroke.&nbsp; She eventually returned to England and worked briefly as a secretary at a business near King&rsquo;s Cross in London.&nbsp; In 1956, she emigrated to Canada and lived briefly in Toronto before moving to New York City.&nbsp; She married the love of her life, Thomas Henry Finnegan, the following year.&nbsp; In 1959 she gave birth to her first child and became a devoted wife and mother, delivering nine more healthy children between 1961 and 1971.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>After briefly living in Queens, NY, Mrs. Finnegan lived in Brooklyn, NY until 1967 and then moved to Hastings-on-Hudson where she lived until after her husband passed away in 2002.&nbsp; She then moved to her current address in Pearl River, NY.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Mrs. Finnegan will be remembered for her steadfast love for her husband and children, her irreverent and mischievous sense of humor and infectious laugh, and for her devotion to the Catholic faith.&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Mrs. Finnegan is survived by her ten children (Thomas Michael Finnegan, Maureen Teresa Brennan, Kathleen Mary Finnegan, Stephen Patrick Finnegan, James Gerard Finnegan, Eileen Ada Finnegan, Robert Anthony Finnegan, John Joseph Finnegan, Edward Francis Finnegan, and Noreen Ann Kennedy), twenty grandchildren, two sisters (Rita Bellew and Mary Conlon), and numerous nieces and nephews.&nbsp; Family members who died earlier include her husband, sister Margaret and brothers Thomas, Michael and Patrick.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Calling hours are from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, August 8, 2022 at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home, 100 Franklin Avenue, Pearl River, NY.&nbsp; The funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at St. Aedan&rsquo;s Catholic Church, 23 Reld Drive, Pearl River, NY.&nbsp; Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 10 West Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne, NY.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

Lelia Patricia Finnegan (nee Feighan) of Pearl River, NY and previously longtime resident of Hastings-on-Hudson, NY, died peacefully at her home at approximately 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2022.  She was 92 years old.

 

Mrs. Finnegan was born to Michael Feighan (d. December 29, 1970) and Margaret Alice Feighan (nee O’Loughlin) (d. Calling hours are from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, August 8, 2022 at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home, 100 Franklin Avenue, Pearl River, NY.  The funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at St. Aedan’s Catholic Church, 23 Reld Drive, Pearl River, NY.  Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 10 West Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne, NY.
