Clinton Lee "C.L." Gantt, 85, of Batesburg, passed away Friday, August 5, 2022. Mr. Gantt was born in Batesburg, SC, a son of the late Levi and Minnie Lee Quattlebaum Gantt. He was a faithful member of East Side Baptist Church. Mr. Gantt loved to garden, talk to people and tell stories, and pull for the South Carolina Gamecocks. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Carrie Lee Gantt; his children, Steve Gantt (Renee), Ricky Gantt (Judy), Robert Gantt (Cassey), and Susie Trotter (Travis); along with 13 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Also, surviving are his brother and sister-in-law, Callie Gantt (Joyce). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Pauline Cook, Myrtle Matthews, Carlyle Gantt, and Walter Gantt. The funeral service for Mr. Gantt will be held at 3:00 Tuesday, August 9th, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home with burial immediately following in Quattlebaum Cemetery. The Rev. Mitch Bruner and Rev. Robert Culbertson will officiate. Active pallbearers will be his grandsons: Brandon Trotter, Josh Gantt, Bradley Gantt, Robbie Gantt, Jeremy Gantt, and Zachary Hook. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 701 Gervais Street, Columbia, SC 29201 or the Shriner's Hospitals for Children, Attention: Processing Center, PO Box 947765, Atlanta, GA, 30394.
