Maria Messina, 82, a longtime resident of Port Chester died peacefully on August 5, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 18, 1940 in Catano, Reggio Calabria, Italy to the late Rocco and Guissepina Calabro Carbone.  Mrs. Messina was a retired seamstress for the New York Presbyterian Hospital.  She was a devoted wife and mother and was happiest when taking care of her family and baking and cooking for them.  She loved gardening and was a devoted New York Rangers and New York Yankees fan.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and going to her upstate New York home in Richmondville. 
 She was predeceased by her loving husband Antonio Messina who died June 10, 2011 and is survived by her beloved children Rocco Messina and Pasqualina "Pat" Messina both of Port Chester and sister in law Angelina Tedesco of Port Chester and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
 The family would like to thank her devoted Doctors and Greenwich Hospital for their care.
 Visitation will be 8:00am-10:30am on Wednesday August 10, 2022 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. 40 Leicester St. Port Chester, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow 11:00AM at the Parish of Saint John Bosco (Corpus Christi) 136 South Regent St. Port Chester, NY. Entombment to follow at Saint Mary's Cemetery Rye Brook, NY
