Elder Mollie Jane Gant Obituary

Elder Mollie Jane Gant 101, of 507 Everett Street, Burlington, North Carolina transitioned from labor to her heavenly reward on Saturday, August 6, 2022 in her home surrounded by her family. Mollie was born to the late Jerry Gant and Estella Ellison Gant on May 1, 1921 in Alamance County.

Although she had no biological children, she was a mother and example to all she met. She was known for her style and elegance...a very classy lady. She was a lifelong member of the United Holy Church of America.  In the Southern District, she was vice president of the Foreign Missions Department. In the Virginia District she was the Chairperson of the Finance Committee.  In Danville VA, she was Co-Pastor to Bishop Ruby Woodson and later served with Elder Barry Adams.  Currently, she was a faithful 20 year member of Glenn Grove UHC in Mebane NC and was an associate Elder and member of the Mother's Board. Her last sermon was at the age of 99..."IT'S time for a change". She served until her strength declined.

Elder Gant was survived by one sister, Lillie Mae Lea; two godsons, one goddaughter along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Estella Gant; brothers, Eddie Gant, Alex Gant, Joe Gant, Rev. Eugene Gant, Irving Gant; sisters, Levena Blackmon, Mary Gant, Nancy Leath and Katherine Thompson
