Stephen Edward Hunt

It is with great sorrow we announce the unexpected passing of Stephen Edward Hunt on Tuesday August 2, 2022 at his home in Lower Paxton Township at the age of 59. Steve’s story begins on June 28, 1963, in Harrisburg, as the son of Mary Louise (Shriver) Hunt and the late Major Matthew Edward Hunt. He attended St. Margaret Mary Catholic School and was a graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School. Following graduation, Steve embarked on a music industry career, enrolling at the Recording Workshop – an Audio Engineering College in Chillicothe OH. After completing his studies, he established a Sound Production Company in the Central Pennsylvania area. As a professionally recognized Sound Engineer, he would work with many local and regional bands, as well as national major label groups and multi-platinum recording artists. Through this effort, and in recognition of his work, he earned an RIAA certified Gold Album. With his extensive audio engineering/production skills and his infectious personality, he became a staple in the Central Pennsylvania music community. Steve was a member of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Catholic Church and the Lawnton American Legion Post 998. An avid Philadelphia sports fan, Steve loved the Phillies, Flyers and Eagles. In addition to music and sports, he was very passionate about the Culinary Arts and gardening. In addition to his mother, Steve is survived by his aunts, Winifred Hunt Bradly of Philadelphia and Frances Hunt Yuknas of Aurora, CO; his cousins and many friends that all deeply loved him. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday August 11, 2022 in St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Catholic Church, 2800 Paxton Church Road, Harrisburg with Rev. Leo M. Goodman III as Celebrant. Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for his viewing on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the church.
