<p>Donald Hughley, age 81, went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on July 29, 2022. He was born September 11, 1940 to the late Havard and Mary Ann Hughley in Middletown, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth (Tate) Hughley, son, DeMarco Hughley, brothers: Leonard, David Lee &ldquo;Butch&rdquo;, Ralph &ldquo;Abdur Rashid,&rdquo; sisters: Dolly (Hughley) Haynes, Christine (Hughley) Meeks and Marilyn Hughley.</p> <p>Donald accepted the Lord at an early age. He was a graduate of Middletown High School class of 1958. After graduating from high school he enlisted in the United States Navy. While in the Navy, Donald graduated with honors from Oxnard Community College in Oxnard, California, with an Associate Degree in Accounting. During his time in the Navy, Donald achieved the rank of Chief Petty Officer Boatswains Mate (E-7) and received medals and honors such as: 4 times recipient of the Good Conduct Medal; Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea); 3 times recipient of National Defense Vietnam Service Medal; Vietnam Campaign Medal; Navy Unit Achievement Medal; 2 times recipient of Navy Unit Commendation and the Navy Communication Medal. While in the states, Donald also served as a Basic Training Instructor for new recruits at the Navy&rsquo;s Great Lakes Facility in Illinois. Donald also served in the Navy Fleet Reserves from October 1977 to August 1987, giving him 30 years of Navy service. After retiring from the Navy, Donald returned home and worked as a Security Officer for Miller Brewing and Walmart.&nbsp; Donald bought his own boat and spent many days on the water catching crappies and bluegills. When Donald was not on the lakes he spent his time doing his other interest such as: assembling 1000 and 2000 pieces puzzles and planting flowers.&nbsp; Donald was an exemplary son, father, reliable friend, trusted confidant, very precise note taker and the best of the best Uncle to all family members.</p> <p>He leaves to cherish his memories: daughter, Yvonne Williams of Oxnard, (Calif.), son, Richard Hughley, (Calif.);&nbsp; two brothers, Charles and Bruce (Narvell Hughley), both of Middletown, Ohio, one sister Rev. Linda Hughley of Dayton, Ohio, five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, a host of nephews, nieces, great-nephews,, great-nieces, cousins, and a special friend Ophelia Shealey.</p> <p><strong>WE THE FAMILY OF DONALD HUGHLEY WILL SURELY MISS HIM!</strong></p>
