Maxine Bailey 85 of rural Harrison passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at her home after a long illness. Maxine was born May 4, 1925 in Finley, Ohio, the daughter of Earl and Ada (Stanfield) Fry. Maxine had resided in Harrison since 1941, coming from Findlay, Ohio. Maxine was united in marriage to Mr. Jack Bailey on January 12, 1946 in Harrison. Mrs. Bailey was a member of Community of Christ Church of Harrison for many years and was very active with the ladies fellowship. Maxine enjoyed quilting, knitting, baking, creating wedding cakes, and working at church camp. In past years, Maxine was active with Clare County 4H. Surviving Maxine is her loving husband of sixty four years, Mr. Jack Bailey of Harrison, one daughter, Jacqueline Howey and companion, Mr. Mike Paulson of Harrison, one sister, Mrs. Faye Coleen Cody of Harrison, seven grandchildren, Stacie Johnson, Marsha Bailey, Bethany Bedelle, Joshua Bailey, Tammy Howey, Jared Howey and Joseph Howey, twelve great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, several nieces and nephews and many cousins. Mrs. Bailey was preceded in death by her parents: John Earl Fry in 1962, Ada Fry in 1971 one son, Mr. Robert W. Bailey in 2007, one daughter, Beverly A. Labadie in 1996, one brother, Gene Fry in 2004, four sisters: Mona Anderson in 1990, Helen Hodges in 1985, Mabel Evans in 2004 and Mildred Alwood in 2004, one grandson, David Labadie in 2001. Funeral services for Mrs. Bailey were held Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison with Elder Louis Mogg officiating.
