Obituary

Marilyn C. (Grammy) Graham, 91, formerly of 21395 DeVore Road, Meadville went to be with our Lord on Friday, August 5, 2022 at Wesbury United Methodist Community.

Marilyn was born in her grandparent’s home at 1040 Alden Street, Meadville on July 3, 1931.  She was the daughter of Paul Emerson Cutshall and Leona Mae Hollabaugh Cutshall.  Marilyn attended Pierson School on Alden Street, Neason Hill School and Meadville Area Senior High, graduating in 1949.  After graduating from high school, she was employed by Cargo Cleaners.  She then furthered her career by working for Penelec as a cashier and bookkeeper, moving on to work at Merchants Bank as a teller.

She married Cecil Hugh Graham on September 12, 1953.  After her children were born, she made the decision to become a stay at home mom and worked from home helping her husband run the family’s small beef and produce farm.  She made nursery rhyme dolls and sold them at the Meadville Market House for many years.

After her husband’s death, Marilyn returned to work at Cargo Cleaners in 1988, where she worked until she retired in 2005.  She enjoyed traveling with the Anderson Tour Bus during those years.

Marilyn was known to most people as Grandma or Grammy.  She spent many days cooking, baby sitting and playing taxi.  She had the patience of Job and a never ending love for everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Survivors include two daughters, Diana Shearer (David) of Cochranton and Gail Gibson of Gerry, NY; five grandchildren, Christopher Shearer (Angela), Nicholas Shearer (Jennifer), Jennifer Eaker (Casey), Jonathon Gibson (Autumn), and Jon Demore (Olivia); and thirteen great-grandchildren, Tanner, Jadelyn, Matalyn, Reagan, Faith, Brandon, Love, Alexander, Hope, Landon, Aiden, Cameron and Colton.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Hugh Graham, September 28, 1987; son-in-law, Randall Eugene Gibson, October 10, 2020; her father, Paul Emerson Cutshall, March 10, 1972; and her mother, Leona Mae Cutshall, May 10, 1980.

A private family funeral service will be held at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE with the Rev. Alice McClymonds officiating

Interment will be in Kiser Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Pine Grove United Methodist Church, 9488 S. Wayland Rd., Meadville, PA 16335.
